iSub Twitter integration and iOS 5 not getting along :(

Unfortunately there is an incompatiblity between the Twitter library that iSub is using and iOS 5. It may cause Twitter posting to simply not work, or may cause a crash when it tries to post the message.

The issue has been fixed for the 3.0.5 update, but for now, if you’re having issues with it, please turn it off in settings.

More info on the new update coming soon. Still ironing out the final show-stopper issues with all the new code.

Ben, the wait is killing me. Submit! Submit! Submit!

Part of the problem is that iSub isn’t my only project, so I’ve been splitting my time (and more importantly focus) between a few things. For the last 4 days I put everything aside to finish this update, which helped me finally fix a few last lingering issues that just weren’t going away. I should have more information this weekend. Busting my ass to get this done asap!

I’ve been giddy since the video support was announced last summer, but as long as I finally can get the lock screen info (along with bluetooth track info so I can see what I’m playing in my cars display), I guess I can wait a little longer for video.

I just wanted to thank you for continuing fixing and add new features, too many “niche” products gets released and then abandoned by the programmers. Thanks again!

I do apologize for the long delay in video support. Mainly the issue is that it’s a Subsonic thing rather than an iSub thing, and I’ve had a lot of priorities in iSub itself that I had to take care of first. Specifically the internal rewrite, gapless playback, and equalizer. After this update is out I’ll be able to devote full iSub coding time to adding iOS streaming video support to Subsonic. That’s just always harder because it’s not my code.

Also regarding your last paragraph, I can tell you without a doubt that iSub will not be going anywhere anytime soon. Two years working on this so far and still going strong!

I’m hopelessly addicted to music and listen to about 12 hours on an average day. I need music 24/7, no matter where I am. I started working on iSub because I wanted the “perfect” music player and no other players could fill that role for me.

In my case, I absolutely “eat my own dogfood” as they say, and the “perfect” music app I’ve been trying to create for myself is no where near where I envision it yet. I still have a to-do list 100 items long, not to mention my plans for porting iSub to other platforms like OS X and Windows Phone.

No matter what else I have going on, I’ll always be working on iSub or whatever it evolves into. :)

Thank you for taking your time on this to make it the perfect music and soon-to-be video streaming app and not just pushing out clunky updates.

No worries. I’ve worked out a streaming solution for when I’m at home and at work, it’s just the caching part for whenever that would be great. As I said, you do good work, and I can wait a bit longer for quality. :)

Sounds like you’re a lot like me then. Music when I shower, when I go to work, at work whenever possible, on the road home, while cooking dinner, headphones while vacuuming, etc etc. It’s one of life’s great pleasures, and deserves to be treated with care and attention. That’s why I stick to iSub, it really shows that you don’t just want to cash in some quick bucks and move on, but want to make the best solution available.

Haha yep that sounds like me alright :)

Thanks, I use iSub at least as much as anyone else, so I basically just make the updates I’d want to see if I just found it in the App Store 😉

I would love a option to just tweet 1 song like I used to from Audiogalaxy. I have not been able to get the twitter integration to work. It does not post. But it looks to my like it will post everything… And I scrobble to lastFM for that and don’t want to fill my twitter feed with all my listening. Just key stuff at times.

We’re currently working on a top to bottom redesign of iSub, and this is one of the planned features. We’ll have more info over the coming months as it get’s closer to release.

Just wondering if this project has been given up on. I purchased the app and have some questions on how it would be possible to scrobble cached songs.

    love the app thanks
